Things to Do Across Albania's Cities and Coast
19 guides
Tirana carries the largest share of sights, with Skanderbeg Square at the centre and the Pyramid, Blloku and Pazari i Ri close enough to walk between; Bunk'Art 1 is the one big exception, and the Dajti Ekspres cable car adds a ridge above the city. Elsewhere the pattern changes. Berat and Gjirokastër both stack their sights on a hillside, a castle above and an old bazaar or quarter below, while Shkodër pairs Rozafa Castle with a pedestrian centre and lake trips.
The coast pulls things in a different direction. In Sarandë the waterfront, the hill castle and half-day trips inland form three separate rings, and Himarë splits into the castle climb, the town beaches and the road south to Porto Palermo. Ksamil compresses its best into a short stretch of shore, with Butrint 15 minutes away and the Blue Eye inland.
Smaller towns trip people up on timing rather than choice. Durrës fits its sights into three zones, with the amphitheatre a 30-minute stop and the Archaeological Museum the longer indoor option, while Krujë's bazaar, castle and museums sit within a few minutes' walk, so an hour or a relaxed half-day works. Allow more for Korçë, which rewards a full day and often two.

Fier
- Fier, Albania: What to See and How Long to Stay
Fier works best as a short stop built around the Archaeological Museum of Apollonia and the Apollonia site itself, with the town's university and theatre as brief extras. Plan transport and time around the museum rather than the streets, and treat nearby sites as separate trips.

Ksamil
- Things to Do in Ksamil: Beaches, Butrint & Islands
Ksamil packs its best things to do into a short stretch of coast: the islands offshore, a handful of coves with paid sunbeds, Butrint 15 minutes away and the Blue Eye inland. Two nights covers the core; here is how each piece fits, what the fees look like and where the crowds and heat bite.
Lezhë
- Lezhë: How to Visit, What to See and How Long It Needs
Lezhë rewards a half-day: a climb to the castle hill, the Skanderbeg memorial on the site of an old cathedral, and the plain and coast spread out below. This guide covers what sits where in town, how it fits with Shkodër and Tirana, and the nearby coast at Shëngjin and Cape Rodon.
Përmet
- Përmet, Albania: What to See, Do and How Long to Stay
Përmet splits into two halves for a visitor: the compact old town under the Rock of the City, and the Lengarica gorge a short drive away, where Katiu Bridge, the Bënja thermal baths and the riverside food stalls sit. Here is how to order a day or two, what to book, and the trade-offs in summer.

Shkodër
